The assesment of information systems used in it companies in İstanbul in terms of value chain analysis and project management, and usage of cloud computing technologies

Along with the globalization of world markets; the concepts of speed, cost, and information management have become more of an issue.Besides, the objectives to obtain competitive advantage and develop in all areas have made the usage of information systems inevitable. Cloud computing, evaluated as an innovative technology reducing IT and management costs, enables to focus on core competencies and keep up with the developing technologies via outsourcing information technology activities. Cloud computing, also allows to reach faster and more flexible business processes with lower costs through the principle of "pay as you go" in addition to outsourcing concept. In this study, the conformity between the methods and tools used during design, production, implementation, and continuation of available information systems and value chain analysis, and business processes in generally accepted, project management approaches and also the portability of current business structure towards cloud computing technology was examined as well.In this context, the results obtained from the analysis of data and interviewsof the IT companies in Istanbul have been evaluated in terms of technological, organizational, and environmental structures.
