Abstract (EN)

In recent years, the number of couples applying to IVF centers to have a child has been increasing. When the causes of infertility are analyzed, the male factor accounts for half of these causes. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of pregnancy. The study sample consisted of 8046 cases who applied to the IVF center of a private hospital between 2010 and 2019. The cases were divided into 4 groups (1st group 21-30 years, 2nd group 31-40 years, 3rd group 41-50 years and 4th group 50+ years) and sperm count, motility A and motility B values were determined. When the sperm count values were compared with each other according to age groups, it was observed that sperm count in the 4th group decreased more than the 1st, 2nd and 3rd groups. Similar results were obtained for motility A and motility B. As a result, the mean sperm count was 24x106. In men over 50 years of age, sperm count and motility decreased compared to other age groups. Age factor was found to be effective on sperm count and quality.
