Abstract (EN)
Materials and Methods: This study is cross-sectional and correlational and the number of nurses forming the sample is 227. Between December 2018 and April 2019, it was admitted to Ege University Medical Faculty Children's Hospital and T.C. Ministry of Health Izmir Provincial Health Directorate Buca Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. The data were collected using 'Individual Presentation Form', 'the Malpractice Trend Scale in Nursing'(MTSN) and 'Burnout Scale'(BS). Descriptive statistics, "One Way Analysis of Variance", "Kruskal Wallis Analysis", "Mann-Whithney U Test", and correlation analyzes were used for analysis of the data. Findings : In the study of the pediatric nurses aged 23-47 years were, 51.5% did not make a malpractice while working, 80.2% of them witnessed a malpractice. The mean score of MTSN was 4.59 ± 0.32 , and average of the BS score was 3.68 ± 1.08. The relationship between MTSN and mean BS scores of pediatric nurses working in İzmir was found to be positively low (r = 0.137, p=0.039*). Conclusions: As the burnout levels of pediatric nurses working in Izmir increase, their tendency to make medical errors increases. Keywords: Pediatric Nursing; Malpractice; Burnout
