Abstract (EN)

The debates in the history of photography regarding what fiction and real is directly and unavoidably cause these concepts are problematical. The questions of "what is real?" and "what is fiction" entails to investigate these concepts at first hand in their own conceptuality. Even though since Plato, the distinction between the real and the fiction is made, it puts forward as "a pseudo distinction" at the present times in the art of photography. Jeff Wall who is a Canadian photography artist, might be shown as a proof of this pseudo distinction between real and fiction. Wall's works as a the harmony of real and fiction reveals the 'back and forth' relation of both concepts. This back and forth relation brings light how one without the other is impossible, i.e., without real fiction is impossible and without fiction real is impossible. Therefore, both the real and the fiction are the cause of their existence and also this relation creates the possibility of another concept: fictional reality. Wall's photographs might be evaluate as fictional reality. Thus, only 'the reality of a photograph' is become explicit and might be taken into consideration. In this thesis, primarily on the account of real and fiction are both concepts will discuss in their conceptuality, then will analyze regarding photography in general and specifically in Wall's photographs.
