Abstract (EN)

This research focuses on the relationship between authoritarianism (authoritarian personality), which was discussed in social psychology during and after World War II, in connection with destructive behavior dynamics, and theistic perception of destiny. The research aims to reveal the relationship between the behavior style, which includes the characteristics of "strict, dogmatic, intolerant and obedient", and the theistic perception of destiny, and thus, by reaching some findings in understanding the relationships between these variables, contributing the future research in the field. The research was designed according to the relational survey model as one of the quantitative research methods. The sample of the study consists of 500 participants between the ages of 18-65. 29.8% of the participants are men and 70.2% are women. In the research, Personal Information Form, "Religiousness Scale", "Theistic Fate Perception Scale" and "Right Wing Authoritarianism Scale" were used. In the study, it was found out that there are relationships between the perception of destiny and the authoritarian personality. Significant differences were found out between the authoritarian personality and socio-demographic variables. While a significant positive relationship was found out between fatalistic attitude and authoritarian personality, a negative significant relationship was found out between free will attitude and authoritarian personality. In addition, meaningful relationships were found out between the level of religiosity and the perceptions of authoritarian personality and theistic destiny. The fatalistic attitude, which is considered as the individual's pacifying himself in the face of the events he encounters in life and attributing the events to God, has a positive relationship with the authoritarian personality. The freewill attitude, in which the individual holds himself in an active position in life and refers to himself in the attributes of events, is negatively related to the authoritarian personality.
