Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted to compare women's leisure involvement and quality of life levels with various variables and to examine the relationship between them. The study group consisted of 1203 female participants between the ages of 18-65 who live in Istanbul and do physical activity three days a week. Participants answered the "Leisure Involvement Scale" (LIS) and the "World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale-Short Form" (WHOQOL-BREF). For data analysis, T-Test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to determine the differences between the variables, and Pearson Correlation and Regression analysis to determine the relationship between the scales. According to the analysis results, there were significant differences in the mean scores of "LIS" and " WHOQOL-BREF " with respect to (marital status, age, education, income status, preference for participation in leisure time activities, fitness center membership status and duration of participation in physical activity) variables. According to the results of the correlation test, positive and significant correlations were found between "LIS" and "WHOQOL-BREF" scores. As a result, it was determined that women's leisure involvement and quality of life levels differed significantly according to some variables. In addition, it has been determined that women's participation in physical activity in their leisure time has an effect on their quality of life. In future studies, researches can be conducted to increase the level of involvement and quality of life with the participation of women in physical activity.
