Abstract (EN)

In the highways which has an intensive usage, junctions constitutes a very important role in terms of transportation. The intensive use of highways brings traffic growth herewith both for the intercity and urban roads. At this stage traffic capacity of road and safety parameters come forward for the vehicles and drivers navigating in traffic. Within the thesis it will be developed a model on guiding us to select the type of junction which is an important factor affecting the capacity and safety on intercity and urban roads, and support this model with a software in the thesis.In this model, junctions will be reviewed separately by evaluating in terms of capacity and safety, and analyzed according to result whether or not feasible to construct the junction. By carrying out this evaluation, all the grade junction and grade separated junction types which has applications on highways will be included, safety parameters will be reviewed in terms of traffic safety and all costs will be included to the model. As a result, by creating a capacity, safety and economy model it will be targeted to move this model to the computer baseline as a software.Key Words : Capacity, Safety, Cost, Junction, Highway, Software
