Abstract (EN)

This study, it was aimed to examine the effects of enhaanced recovery protocols in cardiovascular surgery on patient outcomes by systematic review and meta-analysis method. January 2019 using "cardiovascular surgery", "ERAS", "patient outcomes" and related terms from Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, Pubmed, Medline, Web of Science, Embase, Ebsco, Scopus, and Science Direct databases. All studies published in Turkish and English between 15 June 2022 were scanned. As a result of the screening, 18 studies were included in the analysis. The included articles were reviewed by two independent evaluators, and the methodological quality of the studies was evaluated with the "JBI-Meta analysis of statistics assessment and review instrument-MAStARI" tools. The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis 3 program was used on the analysis of the data. The heterogeneity of the findings was calculated according to I2 statistics, publication bias funnel plot, and effect size according to Cohen. When the meta-analysis results of the findings are evaluated, ERAS protocols were applied in cardiovascular surgery patients. It was concluded that it was effective on general patient outcomes, pain, length of hospital stay, length of stay in the intensive care unit, development of delirium, extubation time, mobilization, opioid use, infection development, but not kidney failure, development of arrhythmia, stroke, reoperation. It is thought that this result is due to the limited number of studies in the literature. Based on this, it is recommended to carry out more research involving ERAS protocols.
