Abstract (EN)

Since the beginning of human history, humor has evolved in every aspect of life, problems of everyday life, friendship, love, the relationship between men and women, all feelings and thoughts of humor are among the topics. İn particular, the media at the centre of human life has a privileged position in terms of its economic, social and technological aspects and use of humor. Humor is often found in mass media through cartoons. From all these arguments, this study ise based on how gender representation is involved for women in the cartoon in the context of the relationship between cartoon and humor. İn this study, Otisabi cartoonists belonging to caricaturist Yılmaz Aslantürk were discussed in line with the sexist representations of women. The caricatures chosen from Otisabi cartoons throung random sampling have been solved by semiotic method. At the end of the analysis, it was observed that the woman was drawn in caricatures in line with various stereotypes.
