Abstract (EN)

Abdominal pain is a prominent symptom of different diseases and involves a difficult process of diagnosis and treatment. In this study, we investigated what kind of contributions biomarkers such as IL-25, Pentraxin-3, Adiponectin and CRP (C-reactive protein) in patients with abdominal pain may make to the diagnosis of the disease and the treatment plan, inflammation and metabolic status. IL-25 (Interleukin-25) is known as a cytokine (signalling protein) involved in inflammation and immune response. Symptoms such as abdominal pain may be an indicator of increased inflammation in the body. Measurement of IL-25 levels can help assess the state of inflammation. Pentraxin-3 is another protein involved in inflammation processes occurring in the body. High levels of Pentraxin-3 in the patient's blood may indicate the presence and severity of inflammation. Adiponectin is a hormone secreted from fat cells and has important effects on metabolism. Measurement of Adiponectin levels may be associated with obesity and metabolic diseases and may help to assess metabolic status in patients complaining of abdominal pain. CRP (C-reactive protein) is another indicator of inflammation occurring in the body, produced by the liver. Elevated levels of CRP in patients' blood may be a sign of acute inflammation or infection and may help determine diagnosis and treatment plan. In this study, 130 samples were prospectively analysed in a prospective study including 94 (70%) patient groups (30 acute panreatitis, 32 acute colitis and 32 acute peritonitis) and 36 (30%) kontrol groups. Clinical history was taken, physical examination was performed and the severity of abdominal pain was determined. Blood samples taken from the patients were sent to the laboratory to measure IL-25, Pentraxin-3, Adiponectin and CRP levels by ELISA method. According to the laboratory results, IL-25, Pentraxin-3, Adiponectin and CRP levels determined by the relevant analyses were found to be significantly related to the kontrol group. In this study, we aimed to show that the relevant differences may serve as markers in these patients and to see how this affects the treatment of the condition.
