Turkish sub-dialects of Qashqai eli: Phonology

The subject of our thesis is the linguistic features of the Turkish sub-dialects of Qashqai people, which constitute the southern branch of the Southwest Oghuz group and are spread over a very wide area covered by six provinces, namely Fars, Isfahan, Bushehr, Chaharmahal u Bakhtiyari, Kohgiluye and Buyerahmed, Khuzestan and Bushehr, located in the center, south and southwest of Iran. Qashqai people, who formed one of the most important Turkish nomadic communities of Iran, were formed from the union of six great tribes: Amaleh, Sheshbeyli, Farsimadan, Derehshorlu, Boyuk Kashkulli and Kuchuk Kashkulli. Our study, in which the dialects of the Qashqai people are discussed in terms of historical-comparative phonology on the basis of the methods of dialectology, is based on the language material compiled among the Qashqai tribes living within the borders of the regions in question. Our doctoral thesis titled "Turkish Sub-dialects of Qashqai People: Phonology" consists of eight sections. In the first part of our introductory study, the subject and purpose of the thesis; the study method; the type of research; collection, evaluation, coding and transcribing of linguistic material are emphasized. In the second part, information is given about the Qashqai Turks and the Qashqai nomadism. In the third part, the place of Qashqai Turkish in the Turkish language and the field of Qashqai dialect were tried to be determined and the research history of Qashqai Turkish was emphasized. In the fourth part, the phonological system of the Qashqai Turkish sub-dialects is described. The fifth part of our thesis is the Texts section, which is based on the language material we have compiled within the framework of field research. In the sixth chapter, the grammatical index of the Texts section is given.
