Abstract (EN)
Çınarköy is a village in the district of Kemalpaşa, Izmir. The village was not a Tahtacı location before 1950s. Because it is located on the foot of Mount Nif and has an appropriate geography for forestry, the village has drawn the interest of Tahtacı population and it has gradually become a Tahtacı village since 1950s. Altough they have largely quitted forestry, they still keep Tahtacı beliefs and traditions alive and go on passing them to next generations. The techniques of literature survey, observation and semi-structured interview have been aplied in this paper. In this paper, it is aimed to reveal some beliefs and traditions about Tahtacı people in Çınarköy about whom there aren't many studies and it is hoped that more studies can be carried out about this culture in the future
