The role of the fellow-citizen associations in the process of being urbanized: The case of Bursa

In this thesis, the adaptations of the members of the fellow-citizen associations to socio-cultural, economic and political life are tried to be analyzed in the process of being urbanized. In the first chapter of the thesis, the concepts of "urbanization", "being urbanized" and "migration" are investigated. In the second chapter, the concept of fellow-citizenship, fellow citizen associations and the reasons for the emergence of these associations are explained. In the third chapter; the urbanization process of Bursa which constitutes of the sample of the study is generally evaluated and the findings of the semi structured interview which is carried out by twenty-four members of the association on the scale of Bursa take part in the study. As a consequence of the thesis, the extent to which the fellow-citizen associations in Bursa afffect socio-economic, cultural and political lives of their members are discussed.
