Investigation of clay mixed outer plaster damages for adobe walls

Soil material is known as the oldest construction materials. Human used the soil that was easy to obtain in order to live and protect themselves in the first construction. These days, adobe, which is produced with different additive substances is commonly used as wall and plaster materials. In this disertation, properties of clay binded exterior blaster, applied on wall of adobe construction, were investigated. Also, effects of environmental factors were searched. In this research, different plaster types, that have important relaction on construction shell and protection of buildings, were investigated. Relationship between environmental effect- damage on adobe wall surface and plasters was discussed. In the experimental part of the research; pH test, analysis of organic substance, moisture, consistency limits, sieve analysis, unit volume weight, composite-porocity, specific weight, water absorption coefficient by capillarity, water absorption related to time, water poricity, compressive tests, were carried out on different samples, gathered results were evaluted according to TS standard.
