Abstract (EN)
Many people in the world apply different diet programs to reduce or maintain their current weight. It is thought that diets prepared for this purpose can increase the feeling of satiety, stimulate various mechanisms and keep weight under control. Among these diet programs, the most famous ones are reducing carbohydrate intake, time-restricted nutrition and diet programs in which gluten-containing substances are excluded from the diet. This study was carried out to determine the anthropometric measurements and nutritional knowledge levels of adults aged 18-65 years who applied to 3 different dietician clinics in Isparta. These adults do not have communication problems and agree to answer our questionnaire voluntarily and follow the ketogenic diet, intermittent fasting diet, gluten-free diet and traditional nutrition program. It was found that the nutritional information had no effect on the anthropometric changes when the nutritional scores and anthropometric characteristics of the group were compared. Although the average score of basic nutritional knowledge and food preference of the people who follow traditional nutrition was lower than the other groups, there were more differences in weight loss and changes in body measurements compared to the other groups (p<0.005). It has been reported that in the case of applying popular diets without a certain disease, diseases may occur in the individual due to an imbalance between macro and micro nutrients. For all these reasons, if you have a disease diagnosed by a doctor and you do not have to apply for such nutrition programs, popular nutrition programs should not be done. In positions requiring medical intervention (celiac, intolerance, allergy, etc.), diet programs should be prepared under the control of an experienced dietitian to prevent macro and micro nutrient deficiences.
