Abstract (EN)
The Evaluation of MOXO Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Test Results in Children and Adolescents with Clinical Diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is among the most common psychiatric problems in children. Timely and correct diagnosis will bring appropriate treatment and will make life easier for patients with ADHD. However, it is known that tests used to support clinical diagnosis are limited due to the subjective nature of the diagnostic tools. The aim of this study was to investigate whether MOXO computerized continuous performance test (d-CPT) provides results that support clinical diagnosis. We recruited 30 children and adolescents who were diagnosed with ADHD (experimental group) by a child and adolescent psychiatrist and 20 children and adolescents without any psychiatric disorder (control group) were recruited from a private hospital sample. We applied MOXO d-CPT test to all participants and compared the test results between the experimental and control groups. Compared to normal subjects, patients with ADHD had lower performances in attention, timing, impulsivity and hyperactivity indices. In attention index, good performance level was significantly lower in the experiment group compared to control group. Our results confirm the results of previous studies which demonstrated that the results of MOXO d-CPT support clinical diagnosis. Further observational studies with larger samples are warranted to evaluate the validity and reliability of the supportive role of the test in the diagnosis of ADHD.
