Abstract (EN)

The excavations of Konya Inner Castle and Seljuk Palace in 2010, 2015 and 2018 yielded 90 pipes finds. The pipes found in 2010 and 2018 are preserved in the Karatay Medresesi Çini Eserler Müzesi, while the more numerous 2015 pipes finds are preserved in the Konya Etnografya Müzesi. The pipes, which are analyzed under three main headings: pipes according to bowl shape, pipes with pedestal without smoke paths and pipes fragments of which type cannot be determined, are divided into seven sub-groups according to bowl shape. The pipes cataloged in line with this typology were evaluated under the subheadings of material, technique, form, decoration techniques and elements, and seals and stamps. The pipes finds from Konya İç Kale and Seljuk Palace, all of which are made of clay, are quite rich in terms of form. The pipes were produced in two different techniques, mold and wheel, and were decorated with a wide variety of geometric and floral motifs using engraving and printing techniques, mostly roulette printing. Wheel-made pipes are generally undecorated. In addition to the purpose of decoration, seals and stamps giving information about the manufacturer and place of production were encountered on the examined pipes. As a result of the evaluation, the pipes finds from Konya İç Kale and Seljuk Palace were dated between the 17th and 20th centuries. These dates are supported by the information about the place where the pipes were found. Anahtar Kelimeler: Konya, Osmanlı, Tütün, Lüle.
