The sample of the study was determined by power analysis and 40 patients in the experimental group, 40 patients in the experimental group, 40 patients in the control group and 40 patients in the control group were assigned to groups by simple random sampling method. Data were collected between June 2018 and February 2019. According to Health Development Model, nursing care was applied 3 times in every 2 weeks by the researcher in the homes of the patients in the experimental groups. The experimental groups went to the patients' homes and applied nursing care 3 times in 2 weeks according to the Health Development Model. In the analysis of the data, number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test in dependent groups, t-test in independent groups, chi-square and ANOVA were used. Results: The Selfcare Power Scale final test of the patients in the experiment group 1 was 112.70±29.0; Life Attitude Profile Scale final test score was 156.37±13.5. The Selfcare Power Scale final test of the patients in the control group 1 was 81.35±17.7, the final test score of the Life Attitude Profile Scale was 120.50±31.9. The difference between the posttest mean scores of the groups was significant (p <0.05).
