Abstract (EN)

DETERMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COMMUNITY INTEGRATION, COPING WITH STRESS AND SELF-CARE POWER IN INDIVIDUALS WITH CHRONIC MENTAL DISORDERS SUMMARY ARICI, Şerife Deniz. Determination of the Relationship between Community Integration, Stress Coping and Self-Care Power in Individuals with Chronic Mental Disorder, (Master's Degree), Çankırı, 2024. This study was conducted using a correlational research design to examine the relationship between community integration, coping with stress and self-care power in individuals with chronic mental disorders who were followed up in Çankırı Community Mental Health Center (CMHC). The sample of the study consisted of 268 individuals with chronic mental disorders who came to Çankırı CMHC between November 29, 2022 and January 27, 2023. Sociodemographic Data Form, Community Integration Scale for Adults with Psychiatric Disorders (CIS), Stress Coping Scale (SCS) and Self-Care Power Scale (SPS) were used to collect the data. Mean standard deviation, T test, two-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used in the study. In the study, the mean score of the patients on the "CIS" was 99.653±15.872, the mean total score on the "SCS" was 90.52±21.52, and the mean score on the "SPS" was 99.858±22.445. According to the data results, significant relationships were found between self-care power, coping with stress and community integration of individuals with chronic mental disorders. It was determined that the increase in self-care power and coping with stress increased the level of community integration. The total change in the level of CIS was explained by coping with stress at a rate of 50.5%. The total change in the level of community integration is explained by self-care power at a rate of 46.5%. High levels of stress coping and self-care power increase community integration. Based on these data, it is recommended to apply methods that can improve self-care power and stress coping skills to increase community integration in individuals with chronic mental disorders.
