Abstract (EN)

This research paper aims to critically evaluate the fundamental claims made by Orientalists regarding the sources of the Qur'an in light of scientific and historical evidence. The first chapter provides an introduction to the concept of Orientalism, including its history, The most important issues that orientalists focus on the Qur'an and its purpose and offers brief explanations of notable Orientalists. In the second chapter, the research paper focuses on presenting a scientific and historical perspective to demonstrate that the views and claims suggesting human and non-revelatory sources for the Qur'an, whose divine origins are firmly established, do not reflect the truth. The arguments put forth by Orientalists to support their theories, which claim that the Qur'an did not originate from divine revelation, are based on several factors. These include the presence of the People of the Book community in Medina, the encounters between Mecca and Prophet Muhammad, such as the interaction with Bahira bin Nevfel, the beliefs of Hanifs and Sabians, the influence of poets or the prevailing ideas in the society where Prophet Muhammad lived, the alleged revelation by Satan, and the assertion that Prophet Muhammad was merely a social reformer or a leader driven by his own desires.
