The effect of globalization on social justice

The subject of "The Effect of Globalization on Social Justice" was discussed in her doctoral thesis. For the analysis of the subject, the "social justice index" in the "Social Justice in the European Union and OECD Countries" report prepared by Thorsten Hellman, Pia Schmidt and Sascha Matthias Heller of the Bertelsmann Stiftung Foundation and the globalization index prepared by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute were used. In addition, a total of 12 control variables consisting of annual per capita GDP growth of selected countries, annual population growth of selected countries, share of general final public expenditures in GDP and country groups are used. All analyzes, including data aggregation, were carried out with the STATA 15 econometrics program, and data sets covering 41 countries and the years 2014-2019 were tested with Arellano and Bond Two-Step Extended Moment Estimators. By matching the social justice index and sub-indices with the globalization index and sub-indices, 28 models were created. It was aimed to see the social justice correlation of the country groups affected by globalization by interacting the dummy variables that we created based on the criteria of being an EU member, being a former Eastern Bloc country, having Scandinavian Legal Origin, French legal origin, German legal origin and Anglo-Saxon legal origin, with the globalization index. It has been determined that all legal origin country groups affected by globalization are more unsuccessful in providing social justice compared to country groups not affected by globalization. When countries with French and Scandinavian legal origins are affected by economic globalization, they give the same negative result. In the models that examine the relationship between globalization, economic globalization and social globalization and social justice, it has been determined that globalization, economic globalization and social globalization have negative effects on social justice. It has been observed that globalization, economic globalization and social globalization have a negative relationship with the struggle against poverty. A correlation could not be determined between education equality and globalization and its sub-indices. However, it was determined that the increase in the ratio of annual general final public expenditures to GDP caused an increase in the education equality index. .While no relationship could be found between globalization and access to the labor market, there was a negative correlation between economic globalization and access to the labor market. There is a positive correlation between the ratio of annual general final public expenditures to GDP and labor market access. It has been determined that the increase in annual population growth reduces access to the labor market. In the model analysis, no relationship could be found between globalization, economic globalization, social globalization and political globalization, and social inclusion and non-discrimination. In the model analysis, no relationship could be found between globalization, economic globalization, social globalization and political globalization and the intergenerational justice index. When we look at the results of the model analysis in terms of country groups, we see that the countries with French and Scandinavian legal origin are more successful in providing social justice than the German legal origins. In addition, countries with Scandinavian legal roots were found to be more successful in fighting poverty, providing educational equality, providing social inclusion and non-discrimination, and intergenerational justice compared to countries with German legal roots. However, it has been determined that being a member of the former eastern bloc causes a decrease in the labor market access index compared to not being a member of the former eastern bloc. It has been determined that being a member of the European Union is more unsuccessful in terms of social inclusion and non-discrimination, ensuring educational equality, and fighting against poverty than being a member of the European Union.
