Al-Qurtubi's methodology of jurisprudential i̇nterpretation

In this work, the life of Mohammed Ibn Ahmad Al- Qurtubî (671/ 1273) who is an important scholar of Andalusian interpretation school between the 7th and 13th centuries and the method of jurisprudential interpredential in Ahkâm interpretation which is popular in the world of İslâm as Interpretation of Al-Qurtubi are discussed. Al-Qurtubi who grows up both in western and eastern cultures, starts to his education life in Andalusia at early age and continues in Egypt where he has immigrated, following the invasion of Andalusia. Al- Qurtubi settles down in el-Minye which is in the south of Egypt and here he busies himself more with book interpretation by living a secluded and modest life. Al- Qurtubi who has a religious character, presents all of his religious science knowledge of jurisprudence, word (lügat) and recitals in the al-Jâmi li-Ahkâm al-Qur'an wa al-Mubayyin li mâ Tadammânâ min al-Sunna wa Âyât al- Furkân. This work is done with the aim of benefiting from work by understanding the methodologhy of such a unique work. This study consists of three parts. In the first part, Al-Qurtubi lifes, his scholarship and moral character, his masters, his students, his works and the works about him are discussed. The second part deals with the general knowledge about his interpretation ( al-tafsir ), the sources that he benefits In the last part, the topics of jurisprudence concept and the method that he uses in interpretation in the general sense and the method that he uses when he interprets jurisprudence in detail.
