Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine the levels of occupational satisfaction and burnout of the child protection personnel who provide boarding care services for the children in need of protection. In accordance with the purpose of the research, Maslach Burnput Inventory (MBI), Job Satisfaction Scale and socio- demographic information were used. The data obtained were assessed on 32 vocational staff members of 69 caregivers voluntarily participating in the survey. According to the findings of the research, it was determined that male staff had more emotional exhaustion than female staff and that the score of general satisfaction level for undergraduate was lower than that of high school graduates and job satisfaction level of the married with children staff was higher than that of the single staff. Participants' average job satisfaction score was 36; the average total burnout score was 26. These ratios indicate that the staff has moderate job satisfaction and low burnout level. Emotional burnout scores of occupational workers were significantly higher than maintenance personnel (p>0.05). 74% of participants think that they are not satisfied with their job, and 17% think that they will leave their profession in the near future. There was a negatively weak relationship between burnout level and job satisfaction in the survey (r=-0.33, p<0.05). When burnout scale subscales were evaluated, there was a negatively moderate relationship between emotional burnout subscale and job satisfaction scale scores (r=-0.50, p<0.05). A positively weak correlation was found between the desensitization subscale and the job sat isfaction scale (r=0.27, p<0.05) but no significant correlation was found with the personal achievement scale (r=0.17, p>0.05).
