Abstract (EN)

In this study, the aim of determining tree stock, a crucial step in determining the natural state of a forest management, was to determine the number of trees in a stand, starting from a single tree and up to 30, in sample plots containing varying numbers of trees. The aim was to determine the stand basal area and stand volume sensitivity. For this purpose, one Brutian pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) stand (each 4.2 ha) was selected from the Gebiz and Kırbaş Forest Directorates affiliated with the Antalya-Serik Forest Management Directorate. The Gebiz study area is a natural, even-aged, single-layered Brutian pine stand, and the Kırbaş study area is a reforested Brutian pine stand. All field measurements were also conducted in each selected study area. For this purpose, 30 sample plots, each containing 1-30 trees, were taken in each study area. For each sample plot, a one-way variance analysis was used to determine the sample area size, which reflects the estimates of the number of trees in the stand (N/ha), the basal area (m2/ha), and the volume (m3/ha). A sample area of 18-19 was determined to be sufficient. If the sampling error percentage was m=10%, the number of sample points to be used for estimating the number of trees in the stand, the basal area, and the volume were determined, respectively. Some studies have suggested that sample plots of 18-19 trees can be safely used for both research and practical applications.
