Abstract (EN)

Kızıltepe District is located within the boundaries of Mardin Province in the Dicle section of the Southeastern Anatolia region. The district borders in the south of Mardin Province have a simple structure in terms of natural ambient properties. The most important morphological unit that disrupts this flatness in the field of plain-plain property is the Southeast Taurus Mountains located in the North-Northwest of the county. In this study, GIS and UA techniques were used in order to determine the land use situation and temporal changes of Kızıltepe district. LandSAT satellite imagery for 2017 was used for determining the land usage status of Kızıltepe district. These satellite images have been created from land use maps. As a result of these studies, in the boundaries of the work area, the areas covered by the land and the rugged fields, while the areas occupied by the fields of agriculture were observed to be relatively more. In the field of research, aqueous farmland and orchards were growing, while the dry farmland had decreased with technological developments. This is an indication of the increase in irrigation opportunities in the district. The biggest problems seen in the field of research are the lack of irrigation facilities, the unconscious irrigation of the people of the region and the fragmentation of the land through inheritance. With the completion of the GAP project and increased opportunities, it is doubting that agricultural activities will increase and the natural problems that limit the region will be eliminated in the activities performed.
