The effect of laic politics to multiparty political life in Turkey (1945-1971)

Religion and Politics has been one of the topics frequently discussed in Turkey. Especially, the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the issue of religious education in schools and discussions of alleged violations of freedom of religion and conscience are important topics. In this study, between the years 1945-1971 aimed to investigate the relationship between the subjects covered by the laicism in Turkey and Turkish politics. While doing this, the policies of the parties in power and the programs of active parties were examined. As a result, Although there are not very different views on laicism among the political parties, laicism is very important factor in multiparty political life in Turkey.
