Abstract (EN)

VI ABSTRACT In all institutions there are some tendencies such as forming and instilling a vision, determining strategies, motivation, change, undertaking, charging people as to their abilities and setting extra-efforts into action. As it is in all institutions, in also sport fields, this tendency can be just realized with a leadership-understanding; That is to say, in every sport field there is the need of a leader. The world of sport-science also, with the same understanding, should find a leader who is to affect positively the processes of the groups in sport teams, to constitute the unity of a team and will be able to establish a reward-performance-relationship. In sports field, it is only the trainer who can take this responsibility, due to his/her position. This research has been made to determine the effects of a trainer on a sportsman- performance. Within this aim, in Al volleyball-league in Turkey, the criterion of the trainer treatment to sportsman and sportswoman has been applied. As this research is the only one in its field, it has a special-importance. This research will be very helpful to all sport-fields, mainly to those who are interested volleyball. The scale of the trainer-treatment composed of 123 questions and 5 alternatives. This criterion follows a line from no effective to effective- When are the trainers more effective. This criterion composes of a trainers' professional-formation, his or her personal features, his or her role in maintaining the organizations within a team, the trainer-sportsman relationship, his ability of forming the spirit of a team and motivation, and a trainer as a leader. There are 30 volleyball teams in Al league in Turkey. A volleyball team composes of 12 sportsmen. That means, there are 360 volleyball-players. We tried to reach to all volleyball-players. The criterion and a information-form composed of 7 questions have been applied to them. The answers of the sample-group have been evaluated. The frequencies and percentages were shown within tables. In the first part of findings, there are the results of the study of reliability of criterion trainer-treatment. With this understanding, we calculated the arithmetic-mean and standard- error of each question and they were explained with tables. In the second stage, the innervıı consistency-coefficients were found as to the reliability of criterion. The inner consistency- coefficients were got with Cronbach Alfa and Spearman Brown and Gutman techniques. At the last stage of the reliability-study, Item-analyzing treatments took place. In item analyzing treatments, for each question, we found the indexes of Item Total, Item Remainder and Item- Distinguishers. At the second stage of findings-part, according to characteristics of volleyball players we tried to find out whether the scales were different or not. In the case that characteristics were divided into two, we applied non-related "t" test. In the cases that characteristics were divided into two, we applied non-related t-test. In the cases that characteristics were divided into at least three categories, we applied to one-sided variance-analyze. In variance analyze, in cases of determining meaningful difference, to find out the reasons of this we applied to LSD test. All statistical results were tested in two ways and the coherency-level was accepted as 0.05. In addition to this, the coherent- results which are at the level of 0.01 were made by SPSS packet-programmer. We reached the following results from statistical-data's we got. From the point of sex-variable, between trainer- sportsman relationship sub-scale and total-test, we found a meaningful difference as to the statistical point of view (p<0.01). According to the age variation of sportsmen or sportswomen we found out some differences about the effects of trainers' treatment. Both in total-test and in sub-scale, we did not see meaningful differences as to the statistical point of view (p>0.05). From the point of view of education variable the professional formation of the trainer, his personal features, and his role in supplying the inner organization of a team, we determined meaningful differences totally and statistically (p<0.05). We determined that there was not much differences in the marriage status of players as to the sub-scale and total-test (p>0.05) From the view of the duration of playing volleyball both in total-test and sub-scale we statistically did not found meaningful differences (p>0.05).vın As to the duration of playing in a team, in sub-scales of the professional formation of the trainer, of his features and of his role of maintaining the inner organizations of the team (p<0.01). In sub-scales of his ability of forming the spirit of a team and motivation (p<0.01) and his personality (p<0.05) we statistically found out meaningful differences. From the view-point of the duration of with a trainer, we statistically found out a difference only in the ability of his forming a team spirit and motivation (p<0.05), not in the others scales. Even view-point of players about the effects of a trainer change, in general, they all share the same opinion of that a leader trainer has an important role on the performance of players.
