Abstract (EN)

Today; by the development of technology products in counterfeits market are showing a rapid growth and when compared with the original products they have become almost indistinguishable. The research subjective of this study is; ''In the selection of luxury goods, the impact of imitability on consumption''. The universe of research is based on client visited a luxury brand Nişantaşı store; selected random between the age of 18 – 69 with total number of 500. The research ended with 472 people beacuse of the exclusion criterias. 174 of 472 people included for the research expressed to prefer only original products. On original product group % 65.5 prefer to have nonimitable products. In the imitation group people prefer to have these products because of economical benefits of having a high social statue in a cheaper way.
