Abstract (EN)

Objective: This study was carried out to determine the yield and quality of some fodder pea varieties in Manisa Plain conditions. Material and Methods: It was established in the field of Beydere Seed Certification Testing Directorate in Manisa province in 2021 according to the randomized blocks trial design with 3 replications. In the study, 8 different types of feed reducer (Ürünlü, Nany, Uysal, Kurtbey, Taşkent, Töre, Özkaynak, Kristal) were used as materials. In the research, 50% flowering days of the varieties, plant height (cm), stem diameter (mm), leaf stalk ratio, fresh grass yield (kg/da), hay yield (kg/da), Crude protein ratio (%), Relative feed value (%), dry matter consumption (%), crude protein ratio (%), ADF (%), NDF (%), SKMO (%) values were measured. Results: In the study, the 50% flowering days of the cultivars varied between 129,3 and 147,6 days. The highest plant height: it was measured in the Özkaynak variety (115,3cm), and the lowest in the Kristal variety (76,6 cm). The stem diameter was between 4,5- and 6,6-mm. Leaf/stem ratio varied between 0,39-0,88, and it was detected at least 0,39 in Kurtbey variety and most in Töre with 0,88. The fresh grass yield ranged between 2.528,3-4.133 kg/da, the highest fresh grass yield was obtained from Özkaynak (4.133,7 kg/da), and the lowest fresh grass yield was obtained from Kristal (2.528,3 kg/da) variety. The hay yield changed between 720,40 – 1.090,10 kg/da, Kurtbey variety had the lowest yield, and Özkaynak variety had the highest yield. In terms of quality characteristics, it was observed that dry matter intake varied between 2,66% - 3,26%, crude protein ratio between 14,83% - 23,80%, NYD ratio between 130,7% and 163,7%. ADF ratio is at least 29,6% in Kurtbey variety, maximum 32,86% in Uysal variety, NDF ratio is at least 36,7% in Taşkent variety, at most 45,06% in Uysal variety, SKMO ratio is at least 63,30% in Uysal variety was measured in Kurtbey variety with a maximum of 65,83%. Conclusion: As a result of this study, Özkaynak and Töre varieties came to the fore in terms of yield, and Taşkent, Kurtbey and Kristal varieties came to the fore in terms of quality criteria. Keywords: Forage pea, ADF, NYD, Fresh Forage Yield, Hay Yield
