Mebâni'l-İnşâ-Second volume

The Ottoman Empire that has riched top of its power with accomplished itself passing process of seigniory to state has entered to the process of dissolution in XIX. century. At the beginning, it disregarded the improvements in the west because of the confidence that came from being a huge state, but military defeats that it experienced revealed the necessity of turning its face to the west. Firstly, a connection between west and Ottoman Empire was technically set, europeanization was officially declared in XIX. century. Western management, law, education and culture were benefited. Even if there were not a specific plan and programme, various regulations in educational area were done. New schools were opened, class plan and programmes were changed and works were translated. Therefore dualities in the educational area were experienced just like in the other areas-while some intellectuals support the ideas of enlightening the public and simplification of language, some people tried to found the centre of Turkish nationalization Süleyman Hüsnü Pasha is one of these people. Süleyman Hüsnü Pasha who had represented the idea of Turkish nationalization consciously, took on unforgotten place in our history of education with the military high schools that he founded while he was working at Ministry of Military Schools. While various French class books were translated for be taught in schools, he regarded the class books unique to a nation as necessary and he wrote Mebâni'l-İnşâ in which he placed plenty of examples for compozition and literature. The aim of our study is to reveal the class book that was prepared with such a good thought and to transcribe it. In the openning chapter of our study tackles these topics; the general situation in which Ottoman took place in XIX. century and westernization movements, works of rhetoric which made in Period of Reforms and Süleyman Hüsnü Pasha's life and Works. The second part include the introduction and analysis of Mebâni'l-İnşâ. İn the third part, was given the transcribed text of the work.
