Abstract (EN)
Media is determinant in the transformation of knowledge into information as well as where, when and how this information will be used.In the process of information production, reality is reconstructed by the media. In this regard, media frame information by deciding which one is important and which is not. This causes one-way and manipulative information. Hegemonic powers benefit from media in order to legitimate their power by manifacturing consent. Therefore media become one of the key elements socio-economic and socio-political structures of the social system. This thesis reveals how media manipulate news based on a true story and reconstruct the reality. In this study Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis is used to put it forward how manipulative news are made in order to form targetted opinion.
