Philosophy of mind in the Mekki suras

Man has been aware of his self ever since he has existed. He strives to solve the nature of who he is. This effort is valuable in terms of revealing why man exists, his own nature, and his differences from other beings. In the past, efforts to make sense of human beings through the soul-body problem continued, while in the modern period they continue through the concept of "mind". In our study, ontological, epistemological and semantic questions about the mind were asked and their answers were sought under both modern philosophy of mind and Islamic philosophy. Under these three headings, what the mind is has been analyzed both within the framework of modern philosophy of mind and Islamic philosophy. Ontologically, we have dealt with issues related to the separation of mind and body, the existence of the mind, the states and faculties of the mind; epistemologically, we have dealt with the problem of other minds and self-consciousness. Semantically, we have dealt with issues and questions such as how concepts are formed, how we transfer them to other conscious beings, and concepts. The point that distinguishes it from the studies in the field is that it is studied in the light of the Qur'an while examining the philosophy of mind in Islamic philosophy. Searching the questions asked by modern philosophy within Islamic philosophy and even studying it based on revelation, which is its primary source, has been an answer to the theses produced against Islamic philosophy. For those who state that Islamic philosophy is not modern and original, we have shown in our study that it is an original thought system that is connected to both modernity and tradition.
