A survay study on science, chemistry and physics teachers on corrosion topic

The main goal of this study is to elucidate the awareness of science, physics and chemistry teachers about the corrosion phenomenon, determine the related the misconceptions and offer remedies about it. The study was carried out by the (14 ) question test in order to evaluate the awareness of the teachers and three question survey prior and two question survey after the test in order to evaluate the opinions of the teachers about the education of corrosion. The study was carried out on 29 female and 22 male teachers working in various schools in Ankara province in 2010-2011 academic years. Among these teachers 10 of them were teaching science, 24 of them were teaching chemistry and 17 of them were teaching physics. The data revealed that although the teachers though that they were quite sufficientin the topic, they lacked in some basic knowledge.
