Mawlana Khaled lived in an age of chaos. Politically, the state had been internally disintegrated and vulnerable to external attacks from every side. However, it was economically strong. Though the great number of wars, internal conflicts and external attacks had left the country no room for prosperity to benefit from this strong economy. In educational terms, during his lifetime, May God have mercy on him, scientific development began systematically. Mawlana lived in an atmosphere of asceticism, piety and knowledge. He began by learning the Koran and memorizing it since his childhood and then began with other sciences until he excelled in it. Then he took the scientific leave/permission from several scholars, including Muhammad Qusim al-Sanandaji. Then he began teaching, made a pilgrimage to the House of Allah, Mecca, and then began the stage of Sufism. He went to his sheikh, Abdullah al-Dahlawi, in India and took Sufism school permission from him and authorized him to guide. Further, he ordered Mawlana to go to his country to spread knowledge and guidance. Mawlana performed his duties in guiding people and doing Dawah in Sulaymaniyah, Baghdad, Istanbul, Sham, Mecca and Medina. People followed the school from Algeria to Jakarta in Indonesia, until is was so-called Naqshbandi in the name of Khalidiya. Mawlana settled in Syria until his death. He left behind a scholarly library who made it a charity library to be used by other Muslims.
