Abstract (EN)

Following the end of World War I and the signing of the Armistice of Mondros between the Allied Powers and the Ottoman Empire, the occupation of Anatolia by the Allied Powers was met with different reactions by state administrators and the public. While the Porte was not strong enough to resist the occupations of the Entente, the National Struggle Movement, which was started by the soldiers in Anatolia and expanded with the participation of the people, protested the occupations with rallies and prevented the occupations from spreading by fighting on the fronts against the occupying forces. In this context, one of the important regions where the struggle for independence was waged was the Southern Front. On the front, many large and small-scale battles took place between the Turks and the French. France was the second most influential state after Britain among the Entente States. Since the French were in an economically difficult situation both because Anatolia was far away from them and because of the expenditures they had made during the war, they thought of withdrawing from the region both to maintain the privileges they had obtained through capitulations and to obtain certain economic privileges in the Cilicia region with the Ergani mines in Zonguldak. Mustafa Kemal Pasha and the Delegation, who realized this at the beginning, developed their strategies in the framework described in the period and ensured the withdrawal of French troops from Anatolia with the signing of the Ankara Entente. This dissertation is the result of the signing of the Ankara Treaty on Turkish-French relations during the period.
