Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of burnout conditions on sleep quality of wrestlers at the national team level. The study was designed using the relational screening model. The working group consists of 212 national wrestlers affiliated to the Turkish Wrestling Federation. Among the information collection tools and techniques, the "survey technique" and the "simple random sampling" method were used. The data collection tool in the study consists of three parts. The "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher was used in the first part, the "Athlete Burnout Questionnaire" (adapted to Turkish by Kelecek and others (2016) in the second part, the "Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index" (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) developed by Buysse and others (1989) and adapted to Turkish by Ağargün and others (1996) in the third part. In the analysis of the data, independent group t-test for binary group comparisons from percentage, frequency, parametric tests, one-way analysis of variance (anova) for multiple comparisons, Pearson correlation analysis to determine the strength and direction of the relationships, and regression analysis to determine the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable were performed. For the statistical significance level, p>0.005 was accepted. According to the personal information form, when the burnout levels and sleep quality conditions were examined, it was found that there was no statistically significant difference between the groups according to the gender, marital status and educational status of the wrestlers (p>0.05); statistically significant differences were found between the groups according to age, income levels and wrestling style (p<0.05). According to the correlation test result, burnout status is related to sleep quality (p=0.01); in addition, according to the regression test result, it was concluded that increasing the burnout status increases the rate of sleep quality (F:14.444; p<0.05). Key Terms: Wrestling, Burnout, Sleep Quality Science Code: 130103
