Interpretation and application of theater posters in modernism process

Posters are the graphical products which take place in interior and exterior environments and aim to convey a message and promote a product while reflecting the political and cultural structures of society, providing information about many developments that are classified as constructive and destructive. Products, besides having features of informing and orientation, are split into categories according to the message to be given in terms of design, by developing different forms of expression. From this point of view, theater poster that is a sub-category of cultural poster can be distinguished from other poster types with its artistic value. Theater art is a communication tool that exists in direct human relations, can be meaningful as it captures a universal essence and is effective in the development of society's educational and cultural history. The most important feature that distinguishes theater posters, which have an important place in cultural posters, from commercial posters is that the artist who will make the poster design can use his / her intuition and talents freely without entering into an economic expectation. Theater posters are one of the most powerful structures of cultural expression. In the research, the impact of the theater on our cultural lives has been examined in the modern process and the changes made up to the present day is shown with poster designs. While the meaning of modern is analysed, the reasons for the emergence of modern art movement through this process and with what needs and effects it was produced it Turkey is shown with examples. As a result of all the theater posters examined, theater posters were produced which could serve as an example for five different theater plays.
