Abstract (EN)
Egyptian Arabic is a language that is constantly changing because it gets influenced by other foreign languages. The differences in the language can be traced only works of some researchers or novels and films. Therefore, my main source is the Mucemu Teymur by Ahmed Teymur, a researcher who is half Egyptian and half Turkish, and some other literary works written in Egyptian modern era. The relations between Turks and Arabs have begun when Muslims have conquest the Central Asian countries. The relations became even stronger during the Umayyad period. Trade and military service have played an important role in the development and interaction of the language. Starting from this period, Turkish words and elements began to pass into Egyptian Arabic. Since the Fatimid Caliphate, the Turkish words used in Egyptian Arabic started to increase and became the language of the Divan. When the Ottomans took Egypt under their sovereignty, Turkish words have been officially used and reached the government of Egypt. Even after the Ottomans, the influence of Turkish in Egyptian Arabic continued and lasts till today. In this study, the relations between the two languages Turkish and Egyptian Arabic were discussed. In the main sources, the Turkish elements and words in Egyptian Arabic were examined in terms of phonology, morphology, and semantics.
