A stuructural fictional and thematic analysis of Mohammad Hasan Alwan's novel Mawtun Sağerun

The novel is a mirror that reflects everything about human beings such as language, culture and tradition, thanks to its literary power of expression. The writers, who realized the importance of the novel, turned to the novel as a literary genre in order to reflect their culture and ideas. The novel has entered to the Arab world at a time when Arab societies tried to establish both educational and cultural ties with Europe after Napoleon's invasion of Egypt. After a long period of infancy, Arabic novelism finally reached perfection, especially after the 1960s. After the 1980s, the sufi novel, which is an original and new genre, has begun to resonate both in the Arab world and all over the world. Sufi novels have begun to differ from classical novels with the differences in structure and fiction elements. In this research, the development of the novel as a literary genre in the Arab world has been examined. It has been evaluated how the art of the novel has existed in Modern Arabic literature and how it has evolved. In particular, the mystical novel has been examined as a new and original genre by using qualitative research methods. In this study, it is aimed to examine the elements, structure and fiction of the mystical novel through the example of Muhammed Hasan Alvân's novel Mevtun Sağirun, which is an important example for the Sufi novel, for which he received the International Arab Literature Award. The novel has been examined in all its structural, fictional and technical aspects, and this examination has been tried to be grounded by giving examples from the novel.
