His poems which were recollected by Kalenderi-Bektashi dervishes were collected in "Muhyiddin Abdal Divanı" after they were transferred orally from one language to another for a while. Six copies of "Muhyiddin Abdal Divanı" were discovered. 275 poems belongong to Muhyiddin Abdal were discovered in our investigations. These poems have the characteristics of "anonyumous folk poems", "saz poems" and "classical poems". The language of the poet has the characteristics of old Anatolian Turkish in the. period of Ottoman. Aparat from the easily understandable language which Oguz/Yörük Turks spoke there are also some words and compounds borrowed from Arabic and Persion languages to meet the need of religious and myustic concepts. Although if s maintained that the poet was illiterate, we can say that he knew Turkish, Arabic and Persion, and was educated well, apart from these, he was a figure who had the knowledge of mystic doctrines. There is a significant place of these doctrines in Muhyiddin Abdal's poems who is a Kalenderi- Bektashi- Hurufi poet. His age is a transition period during which changing from Kalenderizm to Bektashizm was not completed thoroughly and Hurufizm become more effective among the groups of Kalenderi- Bektashi.
