Abstract (EN)

This research examines the relationships between perfectionism, psychological-tactical skills, contesting orientations, and sports injury anxiety. The study, designed in a relational screening model, used convenience sampling. 450 professional team - basketball, volleyball, football - athletes participated in the study. Personal Information Form, APS Almost Perfect Scale, The Athletic Coping Skills Inventory-28, Tactical Skills Inventory for Sports, Contesting Orientations Scale, and Sports Injury Anxiety Scale was applied to the participants. Data were tested; with descriptive statistics, t-test for independent groups, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis. In analyzing the differences between the descriptive variables in terms of research variables, high standards were found to be significant in favor of women. Footballers' discrepancy are higher than volleyball players; dissatisfaction, coping with adversity, peaking under pressure, positioning and deciding, and war orientations are higher than volleyball and basketball players; general psychological skills, acting in changing situations, letting down important others, and sports injury general anxiety are more than basketball players. Football and volleyball players' concentration, goal setting/mental preparation, knowing about ball actions and others, general tactical skills in sports, and loss of social support anxieties are higher than basketball players. Athletes with 6-10 years of sports experience have high standards, orderliness, dissatisfaction, goal setting/mental preparation, peaking under pressure, and general psychological skills more than 1-5 years of experienced's. 6-10 years experienced athletes' war, and reinjury anxiety is higher than those experienced 1-5 and 16 or more years, while the loss of athleticism, being perceived as weak, letting down important others, loss of social support, and general sports injury anxiety is higher than those with 11-15 years, and 16 and more years of experience. 1-5 years experienced athletes letting down important others anxiety are more than those with 16 or more years of experienced's. 11-15 years experienced athletes' high standards are more than 1-5 and 16 years or more experienced's; their orderliness, general psychological and general tactical skills, positioning and deciding, and knowing about ball actions are higher than 1-5 and 6-10 years of experienced', their concentration, confidence and achievement motivation, setting goals/mental preparation, peaking under pressure, acting in changing situations are more than those with 1-5 years of experience, coachability is higher than all others, and war is more than those with 16 years or more experience. Concentration, freedom from worry, positioning and deciding, knowing about ball actions, and general tactical skills in sports are high in favor of nationals. Nationals have lower scores in war and all sports injury anxiety dimensions than non-nationals. Those with a history of injury had higher scores of high standards, orderliness, in all dimensions of psychological skills, acting in changing situations, and experiencing pain than those without a history of injury, and had lower descrepancy scores than those. According to the correlational analysis of the research variables, high standards were positively corralated with all perfectionism, psychological-tactical skills, partnership, and war, except for freedom from worry, and negatively correlated with all injury anxiety dimensions except for experiencing pain and reinjury anxiety. Orderliness is positively associated with all dimensions of perfectionism, psychological-tactical skills except for freedom from worry, and partnership, and negatively correlated with all dimensions of injury anxiety, except for the loss of social support. Discrepancy positively correlates with high standards, orderliness, dissatisfaction, knowing about others, partnership, war, and with all sports injury anxiety dimensions except for loss of social support and reinjury anxiety. At the same time, it is negatively related to coachability, confidence and achievement motivation, freedom from worry, and general psychological skills. Dissatisfaction positively correlates with high standards, orderliness, discrepancy, coping with adversity, concentration, goal setting/mental preparation, peaking under pressure, general psychological skills with all tactical skills dimensions, war, loss of athleticism, being perceived as weak, and loss of social support, but negatively related to coachability. Coping with adversity, peaking under pressure, and concentration are positively correlated with all dimensions of perfectionism, psychological-tactical skills, and contesting orientations except for discrepancy and freedom from worry. Coping with adversity is negatively related to experiencing pain and reinjury anxiety while peaking under pressure is positively related to all sports injury anxiety dimensions except experiencing pain and reinjury anxiety. In addition, coping with adversity and concentration are positively associated with loss of social support. Coachability and confidence and achievement motivation are positively associated with high standards, orderliness, and with all psychological-tactical skills dimensions, and partnership, and negatively related to sports injury anxiety all dimensions. Coachability is also negatively associated with dissatisfaction and war. Goal setting/mental preparation is positively correlated with all dimensions of perfectionism and psychological-tactical skills except for discrepancy, freedom from worry, and general psychological skills. It is also positively related to war and loss of social support. Freedom from worry is positively related to coachability, confidence and achievement motivation, and general psychological skills. It is negatively related to the discrepancy, war, and all dimensions of sports injury anxiety. Positioning and deciding, knowing about ball actions, and acting in changing situations are positively correlated with partnership and all dimensions of perfectionism, psychological-tactical skills except discrepancy and freedom from worry. Acting in changing situations is positively related to war and negatively related to positioning and deciding, and all dimensions of sports injury anxiety. Knowing about ball action is positively associated with loss of social support and negatively correlated with all other sports injury anxiety dimensions. Knowing about others is positively related to all dimensions of perfectionism, psychological-tactical skills, and contesting orientations, apart from freedom of worry. It is negatively related to being perceived as weak, experiencing pain, reinjury, and sports injury general anxiety. According to hierarchical regression analyses to determine the variables predicting sports injury anxiety, high standards, coachability, confidence and achievement motivation, positioning and deciding, and national athletic status is negative predictors of loss of athleticism, concentration, goal setting/mental preparation, peaking under pressure and war are positive predictors. High standards, coachability, confidence and achievement motivation, positioning and deciding, knowing about ball actions, and national athletic status is negative predictors of being perceived as weak. At the same time, goal setting/mental preparation, peaking under pressure, and war are positive predictors. Dissatisfaction, coping with adversity, freedom of worry, positioning and deciding, being a basketball player, and being a volleyball player predicted experiencing pain negatively, and war predicted it positively. Letting down important others is negatively predicted by high standards, confidence and achievement motivation, and knowing about ball actions and sports experience. In contrast, it is positively predicted by concentration, goal setting/mental preparation, and war. High standards, discrepancy, confidence and achievement motivation, knowing about ball actions, and playing basketball predicted loos of social support negatively, while goal setting/mental preparation, peaking under pressure, and war positively predicted anxiety. Dissatisfaction, coachability, positioning and deciding, and nationality are negative predictors of reinjury anxiety, while goal setting/mental readiness and war are positive predictors.
