Abstract (EN)
Ill ABSTRACT In the period of the teaching of Turkish, the works read have an important role in the language and the identity formation of the elementry schools' second level students. In this study, an evaluation of whether or not Muzaffer İzgü's N.M.E. recommended Works are suitable for the aims of Turkish Education Programme and these works' effects on gaining language and identity are made. In the evaluation, the use of language- and the properties of the works are considered. In the stories evaluated, the following data are found out: - The words belonging to local language and daily use are used frequently. - Some not commonly used words are used frequently. - There are many punctuation mistakes. - Many repetition mistakes are made. - Within the sentences, there are many extra and missing elements. - Chronological and orderly mistakes are made. - Many of the sentences are inverted. - The length of the sentences are above the level. Using the data above, it can be stated that the language of the stories is not applicable to the targets of the teaching of Turkish. The messages given in the five of the stories examined are seen to make some behavioral changes and help them gain an identity. The heroes to be taken as an example in the stories are agreed to be effective on the cultural identity gaining of the students.IV At the end of the research, Muzaffer İzgü's N.M.E. recommended works are evaluated in terms of their suitability to the education of the elementry second-level students and moving from the data gathered, some recommendations are made.
