Implementation of nanotechnology education in the high school

The aim of this research is to help the students comrehend the measurements at the level of nanotechnology ?right after the classical units of measurement such as meter and milimeter- and to make a connection among science-technology and society by thinking so. In addition to nanometric measurements, the cognition of the fields of application of nanotechnology and the imagination in nanotechnological terms will cause an increase in the understanding on future technologies on the part of the students.In this research, Library Searching method has been used to demonstrate how nanotechnology education is applied to high school level.Because the above mentioned method has been used, the sources on the subject are used as data collection tool.It is known that nanotechnology education has begun to take place at the level of secondary education in many of the developed countries and especially in the USA. Collective studies have been made between teachers and the universities to start nanotechnology education in high schools and lesson plans have been prepared as a consequence of these studies. Similar studies should be done also in our country and new projects must be realized to make use of nanotechnology education ?it has already been used at universities- in secondary schools too. In light of these findings, suggestions that are expected to be used for implementing nanotechnology education in the high schools have been presented in the form of work sheets.Keywords: Nanotechnology, Nanotechnology Education, Curriculum Improvement
