Abstract (EN)
International migration is a popular and persistent topic, which is being discussed in the fields of politics, economy, culture and sociology. Neo-liberal economic approaches and the requirements of the post-modern age have brought new dimensions to this historical phenomenon. First of all, migration, a phenomenon accelerated by globalization, has confronted relatively homogeneous nation-state societies with new and foreign cultures. The first generation Turkish workers who immigrated to Germany within the scope of the "Worker Recruitment Agreement" that started in 1961 and ended in 1974, brought their culture and especially their religion to the foreign country. This culture, which they carry, was able to exist by transferring itself to the next generations. As a matter of fact, first-generation parents ensured the continuity of these cultural knowledge sets they brought from Turkey by establishing an uninterrupted cultural transmission chain by transferring them to their children raised in Germany and their children. The subject of this study is to reveal the transfer of religious knowledge sets from generation to generation in the axis of migration - religion - process sociology and the hybridization that will develop in the dominant German culture environment. The phenomenon of religion, which constitutes an area of resistance against assimilation, stands out as a medium where minorities become conservative during the migration process. New generations inevitably construct their identities in this conservative habitat by blending the knowledge sets brought from the origin culture and the cultural codes of the acceptance society. In this study, the similarities and differences between the identities developed by the generations were analyzed with the help of an applied questionnaire. Frequency and Chi-Square Tests (Chi-Square Test X2) of the data obtained in the field were analyzed by means of descriptive analysis on survey data, tables and graphics, and the qualitative expressions of the participants were added to these. In this study, it has been tried to examine the constructed identities comparatively and in the context of cause and effect, taking the phenomenon of religion as a reference, as it is one of the dominant variables in the identity construction of the generations that developed during the migration process.
