A comparative study of religious education activities of the religious affairs organization of Niger and the Religious Affairs Directorate of Türkiye

The problem of this research is expressed as the following "What are the similarities and differences between the Religious Affairs Organization of Niger and the Directorate of Religious Affairs of Türkiye in terms of non-formal religious education?" In this context, the idea, structural and functional qualities of the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs and the Niger Religious Affairs Organization, which can contribute to each other, are emphasized. In order to increase the efficiency and sustainability of the religious affairs organization in both countries and to improve the non-formal religious education activities, the religious affairs organizations of the mentioned countries were compared and analyzed. The aim of the research is "To describe the Niger Religious Affairs Organization and the Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate and to describe the constitutional status of the institutions according to certain parameters, the organizational structure, budget, number of personnel, the role in religious institutions in the secular state, the aims of establishment, and especially the activities, effectiveness, and performance of religious education were compared in terms of (in and out of the mosque)." In accordance with this purpose, the possibility of the contribution that the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs and the Niger Religious Affairs Organization can make to each other has been discussed. The qualitative research method was preferred in the research in terms of the subject of the activities of religious services institutions operating in public and civil society in Türkiye and the Republic of Niger and the content of comparative educational studies. In the framework of the main question of the research, a comparative qualitative research method based on a literature review was used in the study. In this context, a comparison has been made by revealing the similar and different aspects of the Niger religious affairs organization and the services and activities of the Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate in terms of management, executive systems, development processes, legal infrastructures, legal foundations, activity types, forms, budgets, and personnel resources. It has been concluded that the two countries can benefit from each other's experiences.
