Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted to determine the effects of priming with containing different doses of harpin protein-containing solutionson on grain yield and yield components of chickpea. Field trials were carried out in Isparta University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture agricultural research and trial fields in 2020. In the experiment, Azkan and Ispanyol chickpea varieties and a commercial preparation called Messenger containing 1% harpin protein were used as material. Before sowing, the seeds were treated with distilled water and solutions containing harpin protein at different doses (25, 50, 75, 100 and 125 ppm), while the seeds in the control plots were not treated. The experiment was conducted to completely randomized block design split-plot with three replications. In the experiment, cultivars (Azkan and Ispanyol) were placed in the main plots and priming applications (control, distilled water, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 125 ppm harpin dose) were placed in the sub plots. According to the results of variance analysis, the differences between cultivars in 100 grain weight trait; differences between seed treatments in terms of emergence time and protein content; differences between cultivars and seed applications in pod per plant and seed per plant; the interaction of cultivar x seed application was found to be significant in plant height, plant weight, plant yield, grain yield and harvest index characteristics. In terms of seed applications; the emergence period 9.83-11.50 days, the plant height 34.12-35.89 cm, the number of pods per plant 10.66-13.38, the number of seed 10.69-13.97, plant weight 8.02-10.27 g, plant yield 3.63-4.56 g, grain yield 132.45-184.75 kg/da, harvest index 44.21-48.76%, protein ratio 24.75-25.82% and 100 grain weight varied between 35.68-38.64 g. When the results obtained from the experiment were evaluated collectively, it was determined that 100 ppm harpin protein application to seeds could be recommended especially in terms of grain yield and protein ratio.
