Investigation of the effect of intervention program based on neuroplay method on language-communication and social development of children with autism spectrum disorder

In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of the intervention program based on the Neuroplay method on the language-communication and social development of children with autism. In this context, three children with autism between 12-42 months were included in the study. Quantitative data in research; The "General Information Form", "Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ)" and "Ages and Stages Questionnaires Social Emotional (ASQ-SE)" social validity data were collected using the "Semi-structured Mother Interview Form". In the study, the effect of the intervention program based on the Neuroplay method on the language-communication and social development of children with autism was determined by using the AB model, one of the single-subject experimental designs. In line with the design of the research, baseline data were collected, then an intervention program based on the Neuroplay method was applied for 24 sessions, and the changes in the language-communication and social development areas of the children were examined. The analysis of the quantitative data was carried out with the graphical analysis method, and the analysis of the social validity data was carried out with the content analysis method. When the results of the research were examined, it was determined that the scores of the children within the scope of the research related to the language-communication and social development areas evaluated with the Early Developmental Stages Inventory differed between the baseline level and after the application process, and the intervention contributed to the children since the scores of the children in the areas of development showed a positive increase. When the findings at the end of the research are examined, it can be stated that the intervention program based on the Neuroplay method applied to children with autism has an effect on the language-communication and social development of children with autism. When the social validity data are examined, it is seen that the intervention program based on the Neuroplay method is beneficial for all children and their mothers.
