Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims to analyze precarious working conditions and daily life practices of university students, who do not have sufficient income to maintain their education, since when they have decided to work in order to get income/ additional income. These student-workers have established dependent working relations upon their employer because of their inability to determine the wages and employment conditions in the market. This dependent working relations are one of the most important reasons of student-workers' precarious employment. In this study, precarious conditions of bachelor students employed in regular/irregular workplace are analyzed with their reasons and results in the context of Çankırı. Fundamental questions of the study are prepared regarding not only to present the whole picture of their working conditions but also the capitalist employment forms constituting the background of those conditions. A qualitative analysis is conducted by the field research through semi-structured interviews with around twenty (20) students in Çankırı Karatekin University, both maintaining a bachelor education and working in a place at the same time. It is concluded that student-workers are subjected to precarious conditions in both their working places and their social security positions and this is claimed to affect their social life and identity definitions in addition to their education and working process.
