Abstract (EN)
Purpose: The main purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between teacher leadership behaviors exhibited by teachers and students' academic self-efficacy levels. It is thought that this study, which aims to determine the relationship between teacher leadership and student self-efficacy levels, will contribute to the literature. Method: This research is a descriptive study conducted in relational survey mod-el. The research data was collected from a total of 221 participants who were studying in the English language preparatory class of a state university in Istanbul. The Teacher Class Leadership Scale and the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale, which were answered by the stu-dents, were used to obtain the data. SPSS 26 package program was used in the analysis of the data. In the study, arithmetic mean, percentile, standard deviation, one-way test of variance, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis were performed. Results: It has been determined that there is a moderately positive and significant relationship between teacher leadership behaviors and student self-efficacy levels, and it has been determined that teacher leadership behaviors are a positive predictor of student self-efficacy perception. In the study, there was also no significant relationship between demographic information obtained from the participants, students' perceptions of teacher leadership and self-efficacy levels, age, place of birth, field of graduation, reasons for choosing school, number of siblings, and mother and father profession variables. However, in the analyzes made according to the grade point average and the type of high school he graduated from, a significant relationship was found between teacher leadership and self-efficacy levels. Conclusion and Suggestions: There is a complex and multifaceted relationship between teacher leadership and student self-efficacy. Teacher leadership can have a posi-tive effect on students' self-efficacy by creating a supportive and empowering learning environment. Effective teacher leaders can set an example with positive behavior, provide opportunities for student success, be encouraging, and offer support. All these elements can contribute to the increase of the student's self-efficacy. Keywords: Leadership, Self-efficacy, Teacher Leadership, Student Self-efficacy
