The relation between teachers personal characteristics and perceptions of school climate

This study?s aim is to investigate the relation between personal charactaristics of teachers who have duties on the primary and secondary schools in Sancaktepe, İstanbul and the perception of school climate. Relational scanning model has been used.This Study is applied on 302 teachers who are serving in 5 primary and 5 secondary schools that are included by National Educational Management of the Province in 2009-2010 Educanional year. The 174 of the attendee teachers are male and the 128 are female.As a data collecting tool `Adjective Check List?, `Teacher Form of School Climate Scale? and `Survey? which is arranged by researcher with the aim of collecting data about independent variable.The datas obtained from the research have been analized by using SPSS 15.0 program and it has been commented. In the analysis of datas frequency and percentage distribution has been used, moreover to determine the difference between the groups, One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA),Independent Samples T Test, Kruskal Wallis-H Test;to determine the difference between which groups Post-hoc Scheffe Test and Mann Whitney-U Analyse and to determine the relation between groups Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient has been used.When the findings evaluated, the School Climate Scale thaw, morale, sense of dimension scores and school type variables according to thaw, detention, sincerity dimension scores and age variables according to moral sincerity dimension scores and gender according to thaw, morale, job oriented sub According to the variable size of the scores of educational status, dissolution, detention, seniority of intimacy subscale scores showed significant differences according to the variable has a reasonable difference. School Climate Scale scores for the dimension of the school year in the study do not differ significantly between the variables.Adjective Check List shows appropriateness regarding attention, self eccusation and feminine subdimentional points age variant, shows reasonable differance regarding feminine subdimentional points service year variant at school and feminine subdimentional points occupaitonal rank variant. Success, patience, readiness for support, ideal conceit, mannish subdimentionals shows a reasonable differances in female teacher?s favour. Compession, attention, self eccusation, appropriateness shows a reasonable differnace in favour?s of male teachers regarding feminine subdimentional gender variant. Adjective Check List subdimentions shows a reasonable differance regarding the kind of schools and education.School Climate Inventory subscales and the Adjective Check List (ACL), the lower the size relationship between the order to determine the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis of the results, the School Climate Scale moral dimension of achievement, dominance, and creativity, personality traits are; School Climate Scale intimacy subscales and creativity between personality traits; School Climate Scale with the persistence of sub-size business faces, ideal self, between creativity and positive personality traits showed a significant relationship. That is to say, when moral,sincerity,introversion scores improved ,sub dimension scores higher achievement, dominance, persistence, ideal self and creativity subscale scores also rise or when moral sincerity, introversion sub dimension scores decreased persistence, ideal self and creativity subscale scores also decreased.
